Who says only kids can have fun at birthday parties? When we threw our daughter her 5th Frozen-themed birthday party, it seemed only fitting to have a Frozen treat for the parents too! Here’s the recipe for my mom’s famous Bourbon Slush. So that’s why she was so much fun when we were growing up!
You can also tint this green and enjoy a refreshing treat on St. Patty’s Day…if you’re not into green beer. And it’s awesome on the 4th of July. A slushie for all seasons…cheers!
Tina’s Tasty Bourbon Slush
8 cups of water
4 tea bags
1 cup of sugar
1-6 ounce can of frozen orange juice
1-12 ounce can of frozen lemonade
1 1/2 cups bourbon (you can adjust this to preference.)
1. In small pot boil 2 cups of water with 4 tea bags.
2. In another pot mix 6 cups water with lemonade, orange juice and sugar. Blend well.
3. Then add 1 1/2 cups bourbon to the juice mixture.
4. Remove tea bags and mix in steeped tea.
5. Add food coloring to desired color.
6. Freeze minimum 36 hours, or for best results 48 hours. Stir mixture every 12 hours to distribute booze evenly.
Serve and enjoy! And you might want to consider making a double recipe…because everyone will ask for seconds.

I saw this on the link up and wanted to jump right to it, but I have to stay methodical or I’ll miss someone. 🙂 I don’t drink (bourbon) but I think Irish whiskey might sub well… or vodka… or rum…
Thanks for sharing this one with Spread the Love!
Kristen Hewitt says
Ooo rum, that would work too. Like a rum runner.
