Disclaimer: I received complimentary products in exchange for this review. However I’ve used Vega One for years and would have written this anyways!
Vega One Smoothies have been a part of my diet for the last two years. I love that they’re plant based, that they are dairy and soy free, and that they are low in sugar and full of greens. Smoothies are the perfect lunch or midday snack, and I was super excited to hear that last month Vega One launched an even better formula! You mean it could improve? Uh, yeah.
This is what I was sent from Vega One – and here’s what’s different about the new products available in 2015. It contains more proteins and more greens, and they made from 100% whole food ingredients. Plus it’s non-GMO project verified, and safe for kids. I had never served our daughters Vega One smoothies before these, I guess you can call them our one new food!
From what I’ve tried so far, they are even more delicious. You can really taste the rich vanilla flavor, and the chocolate is divine! (And this is coming from a non-chocolate lover!) They come in five flavors: French Vanilla, Chocolate, Mixed Berry, Vanilla Chai (heaven!), and Natural. Since I’ve been missing dessert lately, I decided to make a smoothie reminiscent of chocolate covered strawberries. And that starts with delicious fresh berries…
And of course the decadent chocolate Vega One!
- 1 scoop Vega One Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 4-5 fresh (or frozen) strawberries
- 5-7 frozen raspberries
- handful frozen blueberries
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 8 ounces water, almond milk, or liquid of choice
- ice
- Blend together and enjoy!

I really need to do smoothies more! I’m sure my son would love them. I’m a little weird because they aren’t my favorite thing in the world. I could definitely get on board with a chocolate smoothie though! Yum!

I am really working hard to get on the smoothie band wagon this year. I love them! Admittedly, I’m just lazy about making them. This post motivates me to really consider the benefits of a good diet and how to incorporate smoothies into it. Must try this recipe!

You know what, you can make them on the weekends and freeze. Then just put them in your bag for work and by lunch they are perfect!

I recently tried VegaOne and I absolutely LOVE it for all the reasons listed! I was having a very hard time finding anything that didn’t have carrageenan in it, or didn’t have crap in it, it was pretty much the only one that I COULD ingest! Oh, and another reason I love it..it’s Canadian π
